if you know what you're doing. Try watching 'gone in 60 seconds'. Yeah, it's a movie - but it's not that far off base. I think the reason you see many break-ins is that people with nice cars (like ours) often have nice stereo equipment etc. that is very easy to remove and is virtually untraceable (no registration or title for a set of speakers). Not to mention there is a very liquid secondary market so the stuff is very easy to convert to cash, much more so than stripping a car for parts which is only useful to professionals who have covert distribution channels in place. Besides, it doesn't take any skill to break a window and rip a head unit out of a dash - especially if you don't care about tearing up the console. Stupid kids. Too bad you can't legally set your car up such that it would electrocute (to death) anyone who tried to do that.
